Community Gardens are fenced subdivisions of land, provided by the City of Kamloops, that are sectioned into individualized plots. The Community Gardens are managed by Interior Community Services in partnership with the City.
The gardens vary in size and are leased annually to individuals and organizations at a reasonable fee. Plots rent for $30.00 annually with a $30.00 refundable deposit.
The Garden’s membership includes the garden plot, compost and water, a storage shed and some communal tools. Gardeners provide their own plants, equipment and garden maintenance.
Gardeners are required to sign up for a seasonal chore in the garden, attend a minimum of two work bees over the season and comply with the policies and proceedures set out in the manual. ICS provides educational opportunities through workshops, demonstrations and networking with other organic gardening programs.
Community Gardens are a wonderful opportunity to learn, share and grow. We aim to foster a sense of pride in our community and our neighborhoods!
